In a national catastrophe that, according to all reports, far exceeds the scope of 9/11, the US government has not only dragged its feet in responding, thus allowing even more stranded citizens to perish, the leaders of the Greatest Land on Earth™ have ignored warnings by FEMA of this and other catastrophes (George will predictably deny any fault and blame it on bad intelligence). And while the Connecticut Cowboy has instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security to waive national security regulations so that foreign ships may also transport precious American oil, he didn’t think it important to do the same in letting a Canadian rescue force cross the border to provide MUCH needed assistance. In addition, money earmarked for such flooding catastrophes in New Orleans has been diverted to BushCo’s war on terror, which, from a factual standpoint, is neither a war nor related to terror. In other words, he has endangered American lives by dismissing real threats while protecting us against Iraqi windmills. And as the water and desperation continue to rise, he insists that help is on the way. To those who have had to wait too long already, that probably sounds more like ‘help is far away’.
